Svartisen is Norway’s second largest glacier and definitely worth a visit!
You can visit Svartisen in Meløy municipality, about an hour’s drive from Storviksanden Camping, along the beautiful County Road 17.
Take the boat across Holandsfjorden (10 minutes), and hike up to Brestua – about 1 kilometer. It is also possible to rent a bike or arrange car transport.
At Brestua, there is an open café during summer, with a fantastic view of both Svartisen and Svartisvatnet, the lake where the glacier water flows into.
