World’s Most Beautiful Toilet

The world’s most beautiful toilet is located at Ureddplassen along County Road 17.
Here you’ll also find a memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives in the submarine Uredd during World War II.

Ureddplassen is just a few minutes’ drive from Storviksanden Camping, along County Road 17.
Follow the road toward Ørnes for about 8 kilometers from the campsite.

On the border between the Salten and Helgeland regions – and between the municipalities of Gildeskål and Meløy – you’ll find what many have called the world’s most beautiful toilet.
With widespread coverage in both Norwegian and international media, this rest stop is well worth a visit for many reasons.

Ureddplassen is named after the memorial honoring the crew of the submarine Uredd, which struck a mine and sank in the Fugløyfjord during World War II.
Next to the monument, a stunning public toilet has been built, offering a spectacular view of both the open ocean and the Lofoten mountains.

It’s also very common to see sea eagles perched on the rocks near Ureddplassen, scanning the sea below.
